We submit for your approval, a new song full of otherworldly delights. Hitherforeto, is our most recently written song, though there are more that are yet to be released.
This could be considered to be a song that Josh contributed to the most significantly to date, and also the song where we see Josh first reaching his full creative momentum in the band since he joined 2 years ago. As mentioned in previous posts, we’re very happy for his contributions of creativity and fudge squares. On a personal note, these are some of my favorite lyrics. Dean toiled over those guilded words, and then toiled even further in his laboratory, mixing the tracks down and making our backing vocals sound human. Many of the songs we have been posting lately will appear in an upcoming vinyl release.
We hope you enjoy, and please let us know what you think about this song!
Hidden Number live at Blue Moon, Friday April 23rd
Your Hidden Number pals are excited to announce an upcoming show that will highlight the three phases of life for human beings: education, workforce, and death. It’s the beautiful and inevitable destiny we all hold dear within our hearts.
In other news, we changed our website over to http://hiddennumberportal.com, and we’re all gearing up to release our next album near the end of this year. Yes, the momentum is building, and we’re all excited to embrace some new and some old technologies as the music industry continues to evolve. The current plan is to release on vinyl and offer downloads; and then some kind of package with both. We have just a few tracks to go, and then we’ll throw a huge party and everyone’s invited.
Greetings music lovers. Come forth one and all, and seek out the new track “Fanged 2 Deth”. It is within the electric tubes, if ye only just seek it out. What do you think?
This was recorded at Magnets Large & Small, where creativity is shackled and starved, and then suddenly set free and engorged in a smorgasbord of meats and grains and hugs.
We just wanted to alert the intertubes that our new song “(we’ll never be) friends 4EvR” is ready for realtime streaming and gushing pleasures. Spread the word! This is an early pre-master version, recorded at our favorite studio Magnets Large & Small, but we want to start getting these in people’s hands asap. It’s been 2 years, right? Additionally, you can find this song on iLike, Facebook, sonicbids, and (eventually) our main website [links to all of these are down at the very bottom of this blog].
This song is influenced by the usual amount of dread and loathing that we live in fear of, as usual. Also note the use of Dean’s theramin, and the first major appearence of Josh in a Hidden Number recording. Here is a picture by our friend, Winslow, as illustration.
(we'll never be) friends 4EvR
So what do you think? Do you like the direction we’re headed with this arrangement?
Hidden Number live at Rendezvous, Friday May 29, 2009, 10pm, $5
We are having our monthly attendance gathering of individuals to determine the approved minimum suitable levels of ROCK MUSIC THAT WILL OBLITERATE YOUR SOUL, after having some delicious tempura artichoke hearts (my favorite, and yours). This is again one of the few chances for HN fans to come early to a show, consume tempura artichoke hearts, and then experience an evening of music appropriate to a consistent aesthetic, yo.
Update: (apologies to those on the newsletter; usually we tell you first) We are playing an updated version of Friends for Ever. Update x 2: Dean’s gonna record Black Science in a couple weeks in Magnets Large & Small.
In other news, Joe’s gonna procreate, we still have a poll open, and we recorded some tracks for Friends for ever, fang to death, human error, and will be recording You Are Transparent next.
The title of this post is a phrase that you will be saying to yourself if you check out all the music that is getting recorded by my bandmate, Dean Swanson, at Magnets Large & Small studios. He just started up a blog so that none of us can lose track of all he’s been up to. I kind of wish we were playing with some of these bands…
